In a recent interview with NME, Howlin' Pelle Almqvist, the singer of The Hives, counted himself among the legions of Arctic Monkeys' fans. He enthusiastically hailed the English rockers as "the only truly exceptional popular band" in contemporary times, a feat not easily achieved.

The admiration from The Hives comes after their support for Arctic Monkeys during a recent UK tour, signifying a full circle moment for both bands. Interestingly, Almqvist disclosed that the English rockers drew inspiration from his band and The Strokes during their early days, and they had previously toured together a decade ago before The Hives went on hiatus.

The praise for Arctic Monkeys doesn't end with The Hives; other artists, such as Damon Albarn, have also lauded Alex Turner and his band as "the last great guitar band."
